Overview

Altus Thermal, the “Nest” of water heaters, looks to bring intelligence to your home water heater. By monitoring and controlling your hot water based on your usage the unit becomes increasingly cost-effective based on your living patterns.

Contribution

Altus Thermal was a 2-3 month consultancy project where I developed the entire user experience for the company’s initial launch of their hardware device. Additionally, I created the UX/UI for their mobile app. Project highlights:

Analyzed top 5 competitors to gain insight on what to improve for Altus Thermal’s initial UX.
Partnered with VPs of Hardware & Engineering to design UX vision for the hardware device and mobile app.
Built an initial design system that increased product velocity for the hardware and mobile teams.
