For some reason, I immensely hate this phrase.
So lately I’ve had my nose in the books, typography books that is. Yes, those beautiful characters that make up the words that I’m typing out right now have quickly become my new obsession. Besides my reading I’ve been busy drawing glyphs and reusable characters in the alphabet. A lot of people overlook the beauty of type, but it truly is something to behold. There’s an incredible amount of work that goes into designing a single typeface and unfortunately, many typographers aren’t properly recognized for their work. However, I’m determined to become one of those underdogs – to design a typeface, to become a published typographer.
This endeavor will be a long and tedious one, but I’ve been known to be somewhat of a perfectionist, looking into all the fine details – so this little hobby might be a good match for me!
Tennis, it’s a fun sport, and also a great band! That’s right, the band’s name is Tennis. The band consists of a husband and wife (and a drummer). The husband and wife decided to sail the Atlantic coast for a year. During that time they realized how much they missed playing their instruments, so they began writing songs on their travels about their travels. The result is an ethereal 1970’s sounding pop album labeled Cape Dory. I highly recommend you check them out; I’ve been obsessed with them the passed few weeks.
A song I promised myself that I would record after I finally got a decent mic to record guitar on!
After fixing up my moped earlier this evening I can’t wait for tomorrow’s 40F+ weather! Riding to work is going to be so pleasant. I just hope nothing goes wrong on my moped as I go to and from work; would be a pain in the ass to have to call someone to tow my moped six miles back home.
Toy Story Theme cover!
A unique name for sure, but lately I’ve been obsessed with the band Dark Dark Dark. My boss showed me them the other week and since them I’ve have their albums on repeat. The lead singer’s voice is so beautiful and the band’s sound is truly rich and full.
I just bought a moped! It’s a red 1977 Puch Maxi and it’s totally awesome! The rear tire is flat and the killswitch needs to be replaced, but otherwise it’s in very nice condition. The incredibly reasonable $500 price tag is also a big plus!
Boston got around a foot and a half of snow last night. So today schools were canceled and I also decided to work from home. Snow day! Two of my three roommates were home too so it was somewhat difficult to get work done. However, I managed to get a good amount of stuff done on the projects I’m working on.
When the snow was coming down hard (at 3AM) my roommates and I decided to go out in the blizzard and have a snowball fight in the streets of Boston. It was perfect packing snow so we decided to make a snowman as well.
Now it’s midnight and I’m dreading going to sleep because I don’t want to wake up and go in to work tomorrow. I guess it’s not that bad; it’s already Thursday. This week seemed to have flown by. Friday is payday so that’s always a plus! Hopefully the sidewalks are cleared in the morning for my walk to the T. I’ve already dirtied up my good pair of shoes. Eff you winter.
Today the top button on my iPhone decided to stop working. That’s cool…
