I’m visiting a few friends who recently moved up here for school. After getting the grand tour of their most excellent apartment (and after getting a good night’s sleep after staying up late and drinking), my friend Max took me down Newbury Street.
Now we’re not exactly sure what we’re going to do, probably consume some alcohol. Leaving sometime tomorrow.
I have a bad case of writer’s block. I’ve been working on a short novella for awhile now and it’s simply not turning out how I would like it to. I’m thinking of scrapping all forty pages of it… Maybe I just need some time away from it.
Yesterday I ran a 5k (3.1 miles) race in Fishkill, New York. I came in 66th overall, so I’m relatively happy with that, seeing how there were about 550+ participants for the 5k. I came in at 22 minutes and 18 seconds. My goal was under 22 minutes, however, I’ll give myself some leeway, since I literally couldn’t get to my pace speed since everyone was closely bunched together for the first quarter mile. I’m sure I can easily break 22 minutes next time if I start closer to the starting line, rather than behind a couple hundred people…
Additionally, my mother ran the half marathon (13.1 miles) race, which she completed in 1 hour, 58 minutes, and 30 seconds, breaking her own personal best by about eight minutes from past half marathons.
Then we went to my grandparents house and ate way too much food. Good day.
So over the past few weeks I’ve been learning 3D modeling, using Blender. Today I made a rock… It came out alright, though, I believe I didn’t something wrong while adding the normal mapping texture layer. Oh well, check it out!
The other night I went to go see the movie 9 when a couple of my friends. Needless to say, we were all somewhat disappointed with how it turned out. Without giving away anything major, the main flaw was in the plot of the movie, where it seemed like Hollywood (per usual) took the “let’s have an explosive ending instead of a logical one” route for the main premise of the story.
However, to give them credit, the visuals and animation work that was put into the movie were exceptional. Each time I see 3D/animated films, I’m always taken back by how incredibly realistic the movies are becoming.
If you’re looking to go see 9, I’d recommend that you hold off for when it gets released on DVD. Better yet, it’s a good rental movie.
Reddit was right; I so want to try this.
In and out and upside down,
Perplexing natures we have found.
Above and below and on the sides,
Confused we are how love applies.
Today I spent five hours in the sun resealing our entire driveway. Not to mention, our driveway is not short by any means. Following that bundle of fun, I had the pleasure of scrubbing tar off of myself for the next half hour. I’m glad I relaxed during my Labor’s Day! …
