I found this while browsing around YouTube. Paste Magazine’s video review pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about the The Decemberists new album, Hazards of Love. You’re going to either love it or hate it. He also mentions that there isn’t a true, prominent “hit” song from this latest concept album, which I would fully agree with. Nonetheless, if you can truly accept the unique step in a new direction that The Decemberists took for this album, you will find an engaging, dark fictional story accompanied by a powerful tone that ranges from folk melodies to classic rock.
Honestly I’m in love with the album, so I’m a little bias.
My friends and I just saw Fast & The Furious earlier tonight (yesterday). It was, well… in typical Fast & The Furious? I don’t know what to say exactly. I don’t want to sound totally negative because it wasn’t terrible, I suppose. However, it’s hard for me not to be bias in my judgment since the main reason my friends and I went to see the movie is because we wanted to make fun of all the ridiculous ricers trying to show off their rides.
We went to the 7:10PM showing, so it was a little before prime-time, but we still managed to satisfy our odd craving for Honda Civics revving their engines for no apparent reason. Good times.
Agh, another literary paper for my Independent Study course. Luckily it’s only 10 pages this time instead of 15, but still will be fairly annoying to construct… Oh well. That course and an Advanced Writing course are my last classes towards my degree!
I recently became re-obsessed with Backpack for probably the hundredth time. The organization tool developed by the popular 37signals company really has helped me manage a lot of my creative/professional writing. Additionally, the product houses calendar, reminders, and journal features.
