I read “An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge” yesterday and thought I’d share it with everyone; it’s quite good. The story is split up into three parts and follows a young man named Farquhar. It’s based in the late 1700’s/early 1800’s, during the times of the American Revolutionary War. Sad story, but definitely the type I’m into.
Earlier tonight my Mom called me into her room to show me something on TV; something that turned out to be incredible. She was watching a young boy on the news named Rex. Rex was born with a cyst in his skull that resulted in him acquiring symptoms of autism.
Despite the flaws he was born with, Rex has found his own art and true calling in playing the piano. Though he doesn’t understand many human emotions and feelings, his talent exceeds many of his fellow piano and band students. Did I mention he was also blind?
The interview focused on his piano playing and I found it amazing how well he was at improvisation. During the interview, his piano teacher asked him to play a popular song. After, he was asked to play the same song but was told to improvise the song in the classical style of Mozart. Needless to say, he did it flawlessly. The interview concludes with him improvising a duet with a young woman, which was equally amazing.
It simply shows that human defects shouldn’t control what we love to do.
/sappy story off
“The fastest way to a woman’s heart is through her ribcage, I suggest using a long needle to avoid causing a mess.” Ahh, I knew there was an easier way.
It was very cold today… and I raked leaves. That wasn’t too much fun. However, it’s a nice relief being done with my homework for the week. Though, I’m sure I’ll procrastinate again for the assignments I have due on Wednesday.
However Thanksgiving is the next day, so that just makes me totally happy. Just thinking of Thanksgiving food going down into my stomach makes me moist. Moist like gravy on stuffing, or turkey, or freshly baked biscuits. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Thanksgiving is better than my birthday. I’m being srsly here.
When animals get hurt; that makes me sad. When loved ones pass away; that makes me sad. When someone creates sheet music like this; that makes me sad. (And that’s just the first page. Second page is here.)
However, you have to love the random, yet relevant quotes they have scattered around the sheet music. For instance, “gradually get agitated”, or “release of the penguins”, or “Rigatoni”. (Isn’t that a type of pasta?)
I bought WALL-E on DVD earlier today; you should too. I watched WALL-E earlier tonight; you should too. I’m posting about WALL-E because he’s awesome; you should too.
Have you ever had outstanding credit card bills? Or maybe, you just owe your friend a couple bucks for buying you dinner the other night? All you have to do is what this guy did. Send a picture of a spider you drew as payment for any outstanding debt. Problem solved.
Well, I woke up about a hour ago due to staying up to about 6AM. But for good cause! I’ve finally gotten around to beginning the tedious process of finishing the entirety of mfwilson.com. Its original goal was to be a portfolio site of all my past and current projects.
Due to distractions and an healthy dose of procrastination, it first became a writing journal for me, and then the blog that it obviously is now.
Still, there’s much to be done on the coding side of things, but overall the main design is practically complete. So for the near zero audience I have reading this, look forward to some new sections soon!
As I updated the gaming blog I write for, Cats of Thondor, I came across a link to the new official Prince of Persia website. I’ve been looking forward to this game for quite some time and the introductory trailer they have on their site all the more amps me for the game.
This trailer is simply beautiful. The game’s art direction is unbelievable, and likewise, the trailer’s use of the game’s art is unbelievable. Games like this are what keep me motivated and inspired to continue to playing video games. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I simply can’t wait to indulge into this piece of goodness.
This completely slipped my mind until earlier this evening. About a week ago I was sitting in my car at the gas station as I filled up. While I was refueling I noticed something peculiar out of the corner of my eye.
A man in a dark red pick-up truck was parked a couple pumps over from me. He had opened up the hood of his car and was browsing around like he was looking for a leak or something of the sort. Just then, his face became startled. He stuck his hand into some nook of his engine and pulled something out, a bag of sorts; I couldn’t make out any details. He looked around suspiciously for a minute. I momentarily glanced down at my steering wheel for I realized that I was obviously staring. Inconspicuously, he quickly made his way over to a garbage can to dispose of the bag.
Oh how I wanted to go over to that garbage can and rummage through it to discover what he was had thrown away, but alas, it was rush hour and the gas station was noticeably crowded. The gas pump clicked signifying that I was full.
What the hell could it have been? And why the hell was it under his hood in the first place?
