A cover of my current favorite song:
I hate Christmas shopping. I hate the stress, and honestly, it’s not what Christmas is about.
Now I’m not going to go off on a there’s an almighty God above rant, but I simply hate watching people stress so much about a deadline. We’ve turned the holiday into a game of who gets the biggest and best present for the other person. Not to say that Christmas isn’t a time of giving; the principle is correct, but the overall motive and expectation of most people is way off.
Maybe I just don’t really care for the holiday that much. I mean, yes, it’s great to see family and friends, but in my household presents take the back seat. This year I think we’re actually only going to do stockings.
Off topic of my little rant, I’m happy to say that I have about two and half weeks off from work! Unfortunately, my company does not allow its employees to carry over PTO to the new year and they also won’t pay its employees out for the days off that they have remaining at the end of the year… Oh well, that just means our office will be a ghost town for the last two weeks of the year.
Here’s another original video (after an extensive break):
Kyle Landry’s at it again. Bringing back all the nostalgia of my high school years.
Yup, sure has been a long time since I last posted on this cobweb-collecting blog. Lots has happened though.
I’m finally moved into my new apartment. I say finally because our place was supposed to be entirely renovated by September 1st, but problems arose and we moved in a week and a half late… Fortunately, our new landlord was nice enough to put us up in a hotel for the time being. My roommate Shawn and I are slowly unpacking – slowly.
So uh, right before I moved, both of my mopeds were stolen… They were in my landlord’s garage and were taken a few nights before we moved from Somerville.
Needless to say, I was very sad/angry. It isn’t even the thousands of dollars I spent on the mopeds/parts, but the hundreds of hours of labor I put into those peds. On a brighter side, I got in contact with one of my previous moped sellers and he has already sold me a couple more mopeds. So, once again, I can begin to build my collection.
Those two events were the big things that has been keeping me occupied the past 6-7 weeks. There are smaller things that have been annoying me, and should be vented through blogging, but I’ll save it for a later date.
I never feel like I get the things I want to get done, done. After work I find myself being caught up in miscellaneous errands and activities which take away from personal design, musical, and writing projects that have been on the back burner for months. The weekends are the only time that I can scrape the surface of the list of the things I want to accomplish.
I need a vacation.
The dude is crazy… crazy good.
I saw a Craigslist ad the other night for a Motobecane moped near me. I’ve been looking to get a second moped for a couple reasons. First, I want to expand my knowledge of different mopeds, and what better way to do that than to get a new one! Second, I’ve grown to love mopeding and so it will be nice to have a “backup” moped for when one of mine is out of commission.
Earlier tonight I went to the guy’s house to check the moped out. I think it looks great, so I told him I’d buy it! I’ll be meeting him tomorrow evening after work to pick up the moped. I don’t know much about the Motobecane brand right now, but I’m ready and willing to learn. This will be an entirely different experience compared to my Puch Maxi.
I’m excited!
